Knec exams postponed due to the Corona virus shutdown in the country; get to know the expected exam dates

The kenya national examination council has postponed business examinations that were scheduled to start this march.  Yesterday, the Knec Chief Executive Officer Mercy Kerogo gave out a circular whereby she says that:  ‘Business and Technical theory examinations scheduled to start on Monday, 23rd March, 2020 have been postponed until further notice.’

The circular and the postponing of the examinations comes after the president of the Nation ordered for a total shutdown of all learning institutions in the country in the spirit of curbing the Covid 19 virus that is spreading at a very high rate

Though, according to Dr. Karogo, ‘Business and Technical Practicals scheduleded to end on Friday, 29th March, 2020 shall continue as scheduled.’

‘The Diploma in Teacher Education examinations shall continue until Friday 20th March, 2020 and thereafter be postponed from Monday, 23rd March, 2020 until further notice,” She adds in the Circular.

This is happening even though no one is sure of the school reopening dates,as the efforts of controlling the virus are still ongoing.

She adds that  ‘the Council shall review the directive from time to time and communicate when the postponed examinations will resume.’

The Kenya National ExaminationCouncil is yet to give an update on  the  Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations, KCSE, and Kenya Certificate of Primary Education, KCPE, examinations; more so, status on upload of the 2020 Project based milestone one marks and data considering the fact that the deadline for uploading the same (onto the Knec portal) is March 31, 2020 and schools have been closed down.

  1. excuse me but.. due to the corona virus cases happening in Kenya..will the KCPE and KCSE dates be postponed due to the quarantine and time out of school? Because i would love it if that were the case because some children can not study at home and do better in the school environment..plus if it were not moved to a later date, it is most likely that the results will not be that great for 2020..so please consider my request
