TSC P1 Third Batch Deployment To JSS In May Expected Salary P.M

The deployment of the third batch of qualified PTE (P1) teachers to teach in junior school by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is starting in May 2024.

Successful teachers after documents are verified by their Sub-County Directors will be posted in school immediately as the new term starts.

Thorough scrutiny will be done on the documents presented by the teachers at  headquarters so as to have only qualified teachers posted with valid documents.

TSC admitted junior secondary schools state of grappling with severe teacher shortage hence deployment is meant to cushion the situation.

According to TSC Chief Executive Nancy Macharia, Junior schools require 99,045 teachers which is against the current number of 56,928.
As a result, TSC advertised 6,000 deployment slots for serving primary school teachers who are degree holders  in secondary option to apply online by 18th March 2024 latest .

After successfully selection, teacher candidates are expected to present the a number of documents during verification exercise which include original and copy of the degree or diploma certificate, all original and copies of the academic transcripts  and also the original and copy of SNE qualification ( under cases where applicable)

They are also required  to present original and copy of the KCSE certificate (or its equivalent), a clear copy of the current payslip and also a declaration by the Head of Institution that the teacher is currently serving in the school .

The letter should also indicated that the teacher is not  serving an interdiction nor undergoing a disciplinary process.

Since the first and second cohorts of P1 teachers were already deployed and posted in various , the third batch will report in May 2024 as schools resume for second term.

The p1 teachers  deployed are qualified to start teaching Grade 7 and 8 learners who are part of the junior secondary school under CBC.

For earlier payment for the deployed teachers ,TSC CEO Dr. Nancy Macharia issued a directive to Sub County Directors and Primary Headteachers on ensuring immediate release  and receiving the teachers.

According to TSC,once the teachers are deployed to JSS, County Directors are expected  to immediately initiate posting.

On the other hand , Heads of Institution (HOI) releasing the teachers to immediately exit them through the submission of Exit Reports . This will enable the receiving Head of Institution to submit the Entry Report.

According to TSC, all the reports above must be conducted online through the Posting, Entry/Exit Reports Module .This is because the Commission no longer recognizes neither does it process hard copy casualties.

Details show that the most deployed teachers are primary school teachers in job group C1 while others are in job group C3 and C4.

Here is the Salary for P1 teachers subject to TSC deployment starting at C2 .
Basic salary per month sh. 34,955
House allowance  per month  sh.7,500( other areas receive more.
Hardship per month shm10,900
Commuter per month. 5,000
Leave which is paid only in January sh. 6,000

Teachers with degree certificates)will be placed at job group C2 and after serving for a period of three years, they are  moved automatically to job group C3.
