In a Circular, TSC CEO asks teachers to have their tax returns filed and gives a deadline

Through a circular dated 9th April 2020,  the CEO of TSC Dr. Nancy Macharia has asked all TSC employees to file their own tax return by the end of June this year. This is because they have come to realize that most employees have yet not filed their 2019 tax returns hence the reminder.o

She also has said that, the task can easily before the deadline. After the deadline the portal is all automatically be closed.

“All TSC employees are hereby reminded to file their individual tax returns for the year 2019 through the KRA online itax platform (https://itax.kra.go.ke) by 30th June 2020 as required by income tax act”, said Dr. Macharia.

Dr. Macharia further indicated that the tax deduction cards (P9 Forms) have been uploaded on TSC payslip portal for all TSC employees to download. This will facilitate filing of returns.

Also, the TSC boss says that the commission is working together with KRA to update the  tax records for the year 2015 to 2019 so as to hasten the issuing  of Tax Compliance Certificate (TCC).

“You are also informed that the commission is working closely with KRA to update the tax records for the year 2015 to 2019 to facilitate issuance of Tax compliance certificate (TCC)”, added Dr. Macharia
