The National Youth Service (NYS) has embarked on a recruitment programme for servicemen and women across the country.
In an advert in local dailies on Tuesday, January 4, the authority announced that it is seeking to hire both male and female NYS volunteers.
The exercise, which is expected to be carried out in 352 centers, will kick off on Monday, January 10, 2022, and run for five days till Saturday, January 15, 2022.
“The Kenya National Youth Service (NYS) wishes to announce to the general public that there will be a recruitment exercise of NYS Volunteers (male and female) throughout the republic from Monday, January 10, 2022, to Saturday, January 15, 2022 as per below requirements and dates schedule,” read the statement in part.
All applicants should be aged between 18 and 24 years and must possess a valid Kenyan Identification Card.
The applicant must also be a Kenyan citizen and should be a resident of the respective sub-county under which they apply for.
The service also demands that the applicants must hold a minimum KCSE grade of D (plain) and with relevant certificates.
How to Apply
Interested candidates are required to appear to the respected centres on the recruitment date at 8:00am with their academic certificates in tow.
The other document they should avail, complete with a set of photocopies, include the Certificate of Good Conduct and must undergo a medical check-up immediately after the recruitment exercise.
The exercise often entail a rigorous physical training and the successful applicants must be willing to work in any part of the country.
“Successful candidates will report for the NYS paramilitary training course at NYS College, Gilgil and NYSTTI Naivasha on dates and times specified in the respective calling letters to be issued,” added the statement.
