Litein High School Description

 Litein High School is a  boys-only boarding school located in Litein location in Kericho County. It was started by the African Inland Mission church (later African Inland Church) in the 1930s as a training venue and residence for disadvantaged women in the Kipsigis communion

In 1962 it was converted by the Kenyan Government into an intermediate school then to a secondary school offering Kenya Junior Secondary Certificate Examinations (KJSC) at form two in 1964.

Its first form four candidates sat for KCE in 1968, they were also the first group of students to live in the school as boarding students. Their dormitory was a small block next to the school field currently being used as staff quarters.
The school started its full secondary wing as a single streamed school with 168 students and stretched its curriculum delivery to offer advanced level education in the 1970s
In the late 70’s it became a two streamed school through the ’80s and ……….. This to four streams in 1994. Its fifth stream was introduced in 2010.It is currently a five stream school. The school is in a conducive learning environment. The school is quite affordable and has enough modern facilities and very safe.
It’s like a powerhouse, boys go through there and the outcome after four good years are men of substance.
