Teachers Service Commission has sent good news for primary school teachers. The information said that as the Junior Secondary School is about to be implemented, more primary school teachers will be deployed to teach in the secondary schools.
TSC boss Dr. Nancy Macharia says that since Competency -based curriculum is also going to be implemented, more secondary school teachers will be required, hence primary school teachers need to be deployed in secondary schools.
The posting of teachers will not be discriminatory. Macharia says that at least 6000 primary school teachers will be deployed early next year to complete the 100% transition. Once the CBC is fully implemented around June next year, another group will be deployed.
However, the commission will give first priority to those primary school teachers who have scored grade C+ in K.C.S.E. However, most Preference will be given to teachers with C+ grade in two teaching subjects.
