Drama Festivals To Return To Schools And Colleges Officially As From This Period

Having had a long hiatus caused by the government’s instruction to stop the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, drama festivals are now poised to return in Kenyan schools and colleges.

The events are expected to be authorized in schools and colleges, theatre that will see fans around the country finally smile.

With the the government’s new orders on lifting of major COVID-19 restrictions, the Ministry of Education has now approved the return of co-curricular activities, which were banned in all schools in March 2020, when the government closed all learning institutions in response to the first case of COVID-19 being reported.

Following this, now teacher trainers are therefore to start putting their tools in order and start the training.

This decision was influenced by the relaxation of COVID-19 pandemic requirements such as social separation, this is according to Mr Andrew Rukaria, Director of Administration for the State Department of Early Learning and Basic Education.

Now the Kenya Association of Technical Training Institutions sponsored a theatre festival for the Nairobi and North-East regions at Kiambu Institute of Science and Technology, with participants resuming their activities after a nearly three-year hiatus.
